It’s clear that strength does not increase rapidly, but if you stick with a good program and great coach, you will be gratified with the results. Generally, you can expect to increase your strength by 1 to 3 percent per week. If you have never trained for strength, you will progress faster. If you combine strength training with strenuous aerobic training, you will progress slower. In any case, your rate of improvement will plateau as you approach your potential maximal strength.
