Eben Le Roux Strongman Seminar 2015
On May, 9th 2015, Coco’s gym was lucky enough to have Eben Le Roux, the 2015 Australia’s and Southern Hemisphere’s Strongest man, run a strongman seminar at the home of strongman on the Gold Coast. Everyone who attended this seminar had a great time, not only learning technique advice and tips for atlas stones but also gaining more confidence about other strongman implements such as farmer’s walk, yoke carry and frame carry.
A variety of athletes attended Eben’s seminar, from novice to experienced strongmen that gathered in the sole purpose to get better at strongman.
Eben is an amazing individual and awesome strongman. At the day, he was really helpful when it came to training and he he didn’t hesitate to share his knowledge and he even gave out some of his personal training tips. Everyone was really involved and comfortable with his teaching, they asked a wide range of questions from his training regime to his meal preparation before a competition.
Currently, he is a great ambassador for the strongman sport in Australia as he has got all the qualities to be a great athlete. To him, Strongman doesn’t mean that you need to lift heavy ass weight, in contrary, his meaning of strongman is all about anyone enjoying lifting weights.
I believe that giving the opportunity for people to train and learn from the current Australia’s strongest man allow them to receive some guidance in regards to strongman training. Indeed, there is no set learning approach in strongman like powerlifting or weightlifting, most teaching and coaching are based on the sole experience of few athletes that decided to turn coaches to help out. I strongly encourage anyone to learn from someone that has competed and undertands the demands needed in strongman. Personally, I am always eager to learn from a strong competitor or anyone that has a glimpse of understanding in strongman. At the end of the day, we all want to be better, stronger and faster than the rest.
Thank you to Eben for taking the time to come down from Brisbane to the gym and provide a great learning experience for all involved.
